One Planner, Any Service: Setting Up for Lashes, Brows, Facials & More

By Nail Tech Success Team

The Planner Adapts to You — Not the Other Way Around

In our last beauty-therapist post we explained that the Success Planner works for any appointment-based service. Now let's get practical: here's exactly how to set it up if you're a lash tech, brow artist, or beauty therapist, step by step.

The beauty of the system is that it doesn't ask what kind of business you run. It asks you to enter your services — and then it builds the business infrastructure around them. So the setup is the same whether you do lashes, brows, facials, massage, or any combination.

Step 1: Enter Your Services

This is the foundation. Go to the Services section and add each service you offer. For each one:

  • Name: Be specific. "Classic Lash Set" is better than just "Lashes." It helps clients choose and helps you track what's popular.
  • Duration: How long does the full appointment take, including consultation and clean-up? Be realistic. An under-estimated duration creates scheduling chaos.
  • Price: Your standard price. You can add special offer prices separately if you run promotions.
  • Product cost: What do you spend in materials per service? For a lash set: lashes, glue, under-eye pads, primer, remover. For a facial: product used, single-use items. This number is what powers your profit calculations — don't skip it.
  • Image: Upload a photo of the result. Clients book more confidently when they can see what they're getting.
  • Category: Pick the closest match. For non-nail services, just pick the one that fits best — the category mainly affects how things are displayed.

Repeat for every service you offer. A lash tech might have: Classic Set, Hybrid Set, Volume Set, Mega Volume Set, Lash Lift, Lash Tint, Lash Refill (2-week), Lash Refill (3-week).

A beauty therapist might have: Signature Facial, Express Facial, Dermaplaning, Brow Wax, Brow Tint, Brow Lamination, Lash Lift, Spray Tan.

Do all of them. The more complete your service list, the more professional your booking page looks — and the more likely clients are to book multiple services in one visit.

Step 2: Set Your Working Hours

Go to Settings and define when you're available. The Success Planner supports:

  • Standard working days — which days of the week you work
  • Standard working hours — your daily start and end times
  • Bespoke working weeks — if your hours change week to week (great for parents, part-timers, or people who also work another job)
  • Per-day overrides — if Mondays start at 10am but Wednesdays start at 12, you can set that up

Be honest and realistic. Over-promising availability you can't deliver leads to stressed rebooking. Under-promising and then having free slots is easily fixed — the opposite is not.

Step 3: Configure Your Booking Settings

Still in Settings, configure how your booking page behaves:

  • Booking mode: Direct (clients book instantly), Request (they request and you approve), or Both (let the client choose)
  • Booking notice: How much advance notice do you need? 24 hours is a sensible default. For lash sets, you might want 48 hours to allow for prep time.
  • New clients allowed: If you're full and only taking existing clients, you can close new client bookings here.
  • Deposit type: Percentage or flat amount. For premium services, a percentage deposit (e.g., 30-50%) protects you against no-shows.

For beauty therapists, we'd recommend Request mode for first-time clients and Direct for returning clients. This lets you screen new clients (check for contraindications, manage expectations) while making booking frictionless for people you already know.

Step 4: Connect Your Stripe Account

If you want to take deposits or full payments online, connect your own Stripe account in Settings. You enter your own Stripe publishable and secret keys — the money goes directly to you, never through us.

This is the single highest-impact setup step for reducing no-shows. When a client has paid even a small deposit, their likelihood of showing up jumps enormously.

You can also configure whether clients pay a deposit or the full amount at booking time — and clients who haven't paid a deposit can still book as a "request" that you manually confirm.

Step 5: Set Up Your Email Notifications

The Success Planner can send automated emails on your behalf:

  • Booking confirmation — when a booking is confirmed
  • Pre-consultation form — sent to new clients before their first appointment to capture medical history, allergies, and expectations
  • Maintenance reminders — automatically sent to clients based on their maintenance interval (e.g., "Your lash refill is due — book now")
  • Cancellation notifications — so you know immediately when a client cancels

Configure these in Settings. Each one is optional, but together they massively reduce your admin time.

Step 6: Add Your Existing Clients

If you already have clients, add them to the Clients section. Each client record stores:

  • Contact details
  • Birthday (great for loyalty touches)
  • Medical notes and contraindications
  • Lifestyle notes
  • Preferred services
  • Allergies and sensitivities
  • Appointment history (automatically built as you log appointments)

For lash and brow clients, use the notes to record things like natural lash strength, preferred curl, preferred brow shape, and any reactions from previous appointments. Over time, this becomes invaluable — you never have to ask "what did we do last time?" because you already know.

Step 7: Share Your Booking Link

Once everything is set up, you have a professional booking page that clients can use to book any of your services, pay deposits, and receive confirmations — all without you lifting a finger.

Share the link:

  • In your Instagram bio
  • On your Facebook page
  • On your Google Business profile
  • On your business cards
  • In your email signature

Every link share is a potential booking that doesn't require a back-and-forth DM conversation. You're not just saving time — you're removing the friction that loses clients.

You Don't Need a Specialist Tool for Every Service

There's a temptation, when you're a beauty professional, to think you need specialist software for your specific service. Lash techs want lash-specific software. Brow artists want brow-specific tools.

But here's the thing: the fundamentals of running a beauty business are the same regardless of the service. You need bookings, clients, payments, a calendar, and financial tracking. The specifics of what you do in the appointment are yours — the system just needs to handle the business around it.

The Success Planner handles the business around it, beautifully, for any service. Set it up once and it runs your business for you — whatever service that business provides.
